I have been nominated by my Focal Point. Does that mean that I will be selected for the meeting or as an author?

Nomination does not guarantee selection. The number of nominations received is generally much higher than the total number of experts/authors who can be selected. Hence, there is a rigorous process to select the authors based on the nomination.
Once the experts/authors are finalized, the selected experts/authors will receive a letter inviting them to participate in the IPCC report as an author or to participate in the Scoping Meeting/Workshop.
More information about the procedures for the preparation, review, acceptance, adoption, approval and publication of IPCC reports is outlined in Appendix A to the Principles Governing IPCC Work.
